At the heart of the HAWA Collective lies the inspiration drawn from Hawwa (Eve), the First Mother and symbol of profound womanhood. Her name translates to “the source of life” in Arabic and describes women as just that. An alternative meaning of Hawwa is “air or wind,” reinforcing our commitment to uplifting and empowering marginalized women.

We commit ourselves to preserving, promoting, and protecting underrepresented women’s voices in audiovisual media. Women's authentic, compelling, and influential narratives deserve to be amplified.
